Special Guest: Dr. Carl Boonstra,  Mission Evangelist
Carl Boonstra was born to Dutch immigrant parents on a farm in Iowa in 1925. He was born again in May, 1941, at Englewood Baptist Tabernacle in Colorado.
 
Carl is a WW II veteran, serving from July, 1943 to Jan, 1946. He married Elsie Herzog in May, 1947. They were married for 70½ years when Elsie went to Heaven in 2017. 
 
Carl graduated from Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. While attending seminary, he pastored a little country church. The Boonstras were on staff at First Baptist Church and Silver State Youth camp in the early 1950’s. They founded the East Side Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado, in 1955, and he was pastor there for seventeen years.
 
In 1972, the Boonstras moved to Springfield, Missouri, to work in the Baptist Bible Fellowship International Mission Office. He served one year as Assistant Director of Missions, fourteen years as Director of Missions, and three years as Mission Consultant and Field Representative of the BBFI.
 
Dr. Boonstra has traveled to over 70 countries of the world, to some countries several times. Since 1990, he has continued ministering as mission conference speaker and evangelist. He has preached missions in more than 1600 churches. This year is his 73rd year in the ministry.
 
Dr. and Mrs. Boonstra have two daughters and one son, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Their daughter, Sharon, and her husband, Jim Smith, have been missionaries for 43 years. Their daughter, Carla and her husband, Jim Davis, and  their son, John, and his wife, Julie, live in Colorado.
